Winter Calendar

Philadelphia Commodities Broker Louis Winthorpe (played by Dan Aykroyd in the 1983 film Trading Places) takes in some holiday spirits.

Cozy up to a warm fire in the historic downtown and immerse yourself in the timeless traditions of the city of brotherly love. Tourists usually come for Winterfest at Penn’s Landing, a 12,000 square foot outdoor rink with stunning views of the Delaware River or the Holiday Light Show at Longwood Gardens, with over 1 million lights synchronized to music. The locals come out for the Mummers Parade, a raucous celebration of Mummers, or costumed revelers, who march through the streets of Philadelphia on New Year’s Day. And everyone will be counting down the days til Christmas by Ice skating at Dilworth Park and piling up last-minute gifts at the Christmas Village at LOVE Park, a festive marketplace with over 75 vendors selling handcrafted gifts, food, and drinks.

Rothman Ice Rink at Dilworth Park (in front of City Hall), where you can skate for $18 (or $8, if you bring your own skates)
