So this is admittedly a bit of a hike from DC (1.5 hours), but well worth it if you’ve never been to Solomon’s Island.
Artsfest is a sprawling, family-friendly celebration of great music and art, hosted exclusively at the Annemarie Sculpture Garden. Enjoy jazz, blues and folk music, as well as an opportunity to acquire a masterpiece from one of the many nationally-renowned artists who descend upon the island each year.
For those unfamiliar with the Annemarie Sculpture Garden, it’s the overflow lot for all the modern sculptures donated by Joseph and Olga Hirshhorn. Since then, the idyllic setting on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay has attracted a range of artists, who use the facility to create and showcase their art.
