If you’re interested in the interplay between science and religion, the one-room temporary exhibit in the American History Museum is worth a look. Discovery and Revelation: Religion, Science, and Making Sense of Things spans a giant swath of history, from a letter Galileo wrote during his imprisonment for heresy to the Apollo log in which an astronaut quotes scripture as he looks back to earth.
There’s also a downright creepy mechanized friar that is, at least, worth the price of admission.
Discovery and Revelation is located just behind the gargantuan, problematic George Washington statue on the second floor of the American History Museum, on display now through the end of February, 2023.
